The 160mm recliner spring is the most commonly used recliner spring and can be found on the inner side of the recliner action. This spring is also known as the footrest release spring and is the main springs that operate the recliner.

Description

The 160mm and 180mm recliner spring is the most commonly used recliner spring and can be found on the inner side of the recliner action. These springs are known as the footrest release spring and are the main springs that operate the recliner. 

The 117mm & 93mm lockdown recliner springs are a smaller spring that come into play when the recliner is closed and you hear that “Click” into locked position.

The 80mm Back Assist Spring is found on the lift chair and electric recliner action towards the rear of the action just below where the back rest attaches to the frame.

Fabric Spotter

The directions are a general guide only.

  1. Blot up excess stain deposits with a clean white cloth.
  2. Lightly spray CouchGuard® Fabric Spotter onto effected area. Do not over wet. Lightly agitate and allow to dwell for 5 minutes.
  3. In a clean bucket or container add 30ml of CouchGuard® Rinse Aid to 1 litre of clean water.
  4. Dampen a white cloth in the clean water and blot away the stain. Rinse the cloth in the clean water and repeat blotting working in a twisting circular motion around and into the stain. DO NOT RUB
  5. Repeat if necessary.
  6. Use a clean white cloth to blot away any excess moisture.
  7. Once dry and stain removed, vacuum away any residue then apply CouchGuard® Fabric Protector by lightly misting the area. Allow to dry and repeat. DO NOT OVER WET.

Always Test In A Small Hidden Area

Rinse Aid

  1. Add 30ml into 1 litre of clean water.
  2. Dampen white cloth in the clean water and blot away spills.
  3. Use a dry white cloth to blot up any excess moister.
  4. For stubbing spills or stains use CouchGuard® Fabric Spotter as per directions.

Fabric Protector

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt, dust, contaminants, stains and coatings.
Standard surface preparation can be used. Dirt and algae invested substrates should be cleaned with suitable cleaner or pressure water. Water pressure must be suitable for the substrate.

CouchGuard® Nano Shield Fabric Protection Directions, 250ml and 500ml:

  1. Evenly spray a wet coat of CouchGuard Nano Shield® Fabric Protector onto selected area.
  2. Repeat once using a different spray pattern to maximise even coverage.

Two coats wet on wet must be applied to ensure full coverage.

CouchGuard® Nano Shield Fabric Protection Directions 1lt to 5lt:

  1. If the couches are on timber or tiled floors, place a drop sheet or old towels around to protect the floor coverings. (not supplied)
  2. First test the battery sprayer with water to adjust the spray pattern. You can do this by placing the pick up tube into the sink or a bucket before connecting to the fabric protection bottle.
  3. Testing on a cloth or towel, adjust the fan width by turning the white adjustor on the sprayer. You want a wide even mist.
  4. Evenly spray CouchGuard® Fabric Protector onto the couch in one direction.
  5. Repeat once using a different spray pattern to maximise even coverage.

Two coats wet on wet must be applied to ensure full coverage.

If the couch is on carpet and its clean, allow the protection overspray mist to fall onto the carpet. This will protect the carpet at the same time! Allow to completely dry before using again. Generally allow 1 plus hours to dry completely. Drying times may vary depending on weather.

COUCHGUARD NANO SHIELD® is not classified as dangerous goods.

Protective personal equipment should be used when applying the product.

How To Install Recliner Springs

Removing & Fitting A Recliner Spring

  1. Gently turn the recliner over remember correct lifting methods.
  2. Open the recliner footrest.
  3. Locate the spring you are replacing. You may want to mark where it come from.
  4. Using a pair of pointy noise pliers, remove the recliner spring by un-attaching the hook ends from the recliner action.
  5. With the new recliner spring in hand, hook the one hook end in first then using the pliers pull and hook the other end into the the recliner action. You may need to use your figers to help locate it into the hole. Be careful, they can bite!
  6. Turn the recliner back over and test the the footrest now stays close in the closed position.
  7. Sit in the recliner and open the foot rest using the trigger release and check that it locks closed when returned to the closed position.
